Some time ago, having known me for several decades, Ted set out to narrate my life in charcoal, referencing its chapters through my rowing history, my works as a barrister then as a judge, and foretelling my retirement years, soon to come. Within that broad matrix there was a case for great disillusionment, indeed despair. Ted has characterised this through his knowledge of my life, over thirty years, or so, in an overall portrayal that is informative, insightful and comprehensive.
In this work, Ted explained that he sought to search the person, not the likeness and within that theme reveal life's passing events in visual form....it is a splendid survey of my life.
