Skimming through a catalogue I came upon a picture of a line of urns which were similar to a work in my previous exhibition. The urns were feminine and buxom and had a beauty in their simplicity. Retaining a blush of red as my trademark beginning, I added blackbirds to the recognisable flat format but, careful not to take away the object's singular charm, I added a roundness of form through shafts of light.
